Phillips Head Screwdriver Sizes. Phillips head screwdrivers come in sizes indicated by numbers rather than measurements, such as is the case with regular or flathead screwdrivers. Screws, too, are designated according to number, from 0 to 24. Screws may be machined to fit single-slotted drivers or crosshead drivers.

Holes and Slots Standard Holes. Standard hole sizes for bolts are made 1/16-in. Larger in diameter than the nominal size of the fastener body. This provides a certain amount of play in the holes, which compensates for small misalignment’s in hole location or assembly, and aids in the shop and field entry of fasteners. After market radios are normally rectangular. The standard car stereo size is referred to as single DIN. Most cars have single DIN stereo slots. The measurement of a standard DIN slot is 2-1/8” (50mm) height by 7-1/8” (180mm) width. Most car radios will slide directly into the single DIN slot without requiring an additional adapter kit.
